The next step up from the Gliga III, the II series utilises higher grade timber for improved tone and aesthetics. Outfit strings are upgraded to Opal Gold and the instrument is supplied in a Hill-style lightweight case.

Gliga II Violin – Improved Tone and Craftsmanship for Advancing Students

The Gliga II violin’s enhanced timber, workmanship, and strings give advancing students a new freedom of expression.

All wood received in the Gliga workshops is independently graded and allocated to each craftsperson before construction begins. Spruce selected for Gliga II instruments shows tighter grain for better resonance, while the maple begins to exhibit attractive flame. Higher-grade wood is assigned to more experienced makers, allowing extra care in carving and tuning the plates.

This combination of superior tonewood and careful craftsmanship gives the Gliga II a more pleasing tone for intermediate players. The flamed maple complements the growing skill of the musician, and the variety of oil finishes and antiquing provides individuality and freedom of expression in the recital hall.

The Opal Gold strings chosen for Gliga II violins offer easy playability and allow players to explore a wider range of tone colors. Outfits are completed with the popular TG Hill-style lightweight oblong case, while full-size outfits include an Articul II fibreglass bow (fractional sizes come with the FPS Brazilwood horsehair bow).
